An compiled post from New Orleans...
Let's start with Jimmy J's, this one was my favoritttte. If you don't eat pork, just skim past this one. A fried pork chop egg's benedict with potatoes and a side pancake is what I ordered. The pork chop was fried crispy and not dry, the poached egg was moist and cooked to perfection, hollandaise sauce was flavorful, just nothing but a good bite! You will not be disappointed in this choice!
Next, The Kolache Kitchen-if you're looking for a quick breakfast bite and some coffee, this is a decent option. It's in a nice little neighborhood that's walker friendly and next to a few other small shops one being a pie bakery. I ordered the breakfast tacos (not pictured), ice coffee and a cinnamon bun.
Then we have New Orleans Creole Cookery; this place might be considered a new Orleans staple to many I'm sure because when you search restaurants in NO it will definitely be in the top list of options each time and lots of people suggest it. There's a first time for everything and at NOCC was my first time trying alligator-the alligator sausages were tasty, well seasoned and prepared just right. I also had fried catfish and jambalaya, an excellent combination for sure!
Lastly, Drago's! Now, I've tried oysters once before and they were raw, which was a huge turn off and no no for me. From that moment on I said I'm not trying oysters until I go to NO and can have them the right way. Turns out I was not mad at that decision LOL. Charbroiled oysters are the way go period! And the way to go for us who dare not eat them raw.
